Most Rev. Elias Chacour

 Archbishop Emeritus of the Greek Melkite Catholic Archeparchy of Akko

Born November 29, 1939 in Biram in the Upper Galilee in the Arab Palestine; ordained Priest July 24, 1965; 1982 Opened Prophet Elias High School in Ibillin, 1984 Launch of first book: Blood Brothers, 1986 Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize (nominated again in 1989 and 1994); 1998 Appointed Chancellor of the Galilee Diocese; 20001 May 10th: Received the 18th Niwano Peace Prize, Tokyo-Japan, 2003 Appointed Consultant to the Holy See Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews, 2003 October 21: Opened Mar Elias Campus (MEC) branch of the University of Indianapolis. Consecrated and appointed Archbishop on February 6, 2006 of the Archbishopric of Akko, Haifa, Nazareth and all of Galilee. Resigned on January 27, 2014.
