Apostolic Nunciature
in Israel
On December 30, 1993, the Holy See and the State of Israel signed a Fundamental Agreement, an international treaty which defined and normalized several aspects of their mutual relations. In June 1994, full diplomatic relations were established between the parties with an exchange of Ambassadors and the opening of the respective Diplomatic Missions. An Apostolic Nunciature was opened in Tel Aviv-Yafo (Israel), in Old Jaffa, and an Embassy of the State of Israel was opened in the Vatican. The Apostolic Nunciature covers the territories of the State of Israel.
